Wood Block Collection I Planum Furniture

This incredible project originated as a simple stand alone patrician deign for the clients' New York space. The production of a custom Spark Patrician had been on hold since 2012. However, in early 2018 the client contacted Moore Design Ltd. requesting a strategic plan for their cross-country migration. Originally from California the clients were heading "home" and being aware of their current inventory Moore Design Ltd. happily stepped in to manage the move, or so we thought.
Quickly realizing the client would be more than tripling their square footage our strategy for the new San Diago home had to change. The Client had already been in touch with talented Safdie Rabines Architects in order to update the new home's 1980's construction & flaws. Working with the semi-firm move in deadline Safdie Rabines Architects and Moore Design Ltd. quickly collaborated on developing a truly impressive space that our client would be proud to call home.
Utilizing the original Spark Patrician plans Moore Design Ltd. created an open banister which developed into the floor to ceiling iron welded patrician seen now. Safdie Rabines loved the deign as the goal was to create separation between the floors with the over use and insecurity of glass. The hard delineation was still free feeling as light easly transfers between spaces - the Spark design allows for continuity yet creates sculptural interest.
In the end the success of this project was from a fantastic collaboration between the Client, the Architect and the Designer. The modular designed system was easily constructed, shipped and installed on-site and makes an impact throughout the home while being a part of the homes structure.
